Wednesday's Done Right

So did you know we do half price cheeseboards on Wednesday afternoons? It's a bit of a treat, to say "well done you for getting through to hump day". Cheeses pair excellently with wine and cocktails, particularly things like red wine with tannins (which interact with the cheeses for mouthfeel and smoothness) and cocktails that are a little complex and more booze forward like negronis and martinis. At Osk Bar these classic cocktails are our speciality - we'd hardly be one of Townsville's favourite bars if we couldn't get these right!

Our cheeseboards are pretty popular. We start with three double serves of cheese - a premium soft cheese, these days we have a delicious French brie, with a hard cheddar from a Sunshince Coast dairy, and finaly a mild Australian blue. Blue cheese can be polarising which is why we've gone with a smooth, creamy mild option that doesn't smell like old football socks, but does have a delicious, savoury profile.

To complete the picture we serve with crackers, quince paste, fresh seasonal fruit and a little herbal garnish for aroma. You can also add on serves of roasted and salted nuts, mixed olives, and cured meats if you'd like to fill it out.
